La Garrotxa will host the 1st International Conference on Management and Disclosure of Protected volcanic landscapes - 29/04/2011

The event, scheduled for May 2012, will bring together experts from around the world.
Volcandpark is the first conference on the management, dissemination and geoturisme in volcanic areas protected. This is intended as a forum for discussion and thought that links knowledge of Volcanology with land management and its dissemination among people working in these volcanic areas (national park, nature reserve, nature reserve, etc.)..
The Congress will be held in Olot from 21 to 25 May 2012 and is organized by the Natural Park of Volcanic Zone Garrotxa, the Jaume Almera Institute Center for Scientific Research, the Geological Institute of Catalonia Olot Town Council, with the backing of the International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior (IAVCEI).
The Volcandpark main aims:
1. Share experiences of organizations and individuals who manage and work in volcanic areas protected.
2. Describe how knowledge is important in a volcanic area for good information and education in the region.
3. Collect and disseminate experiences of management, dissemination, education and geoturisme in a volcanic area protected.
4. Identify how the students interpret and communicate the knowledge derived from volcanic areas protected.
Who is?
- A scientific and university community working on research projects whose scope and volcanic areas like communicating or disclosing your information.
- A technical and management nature parks, reserves and national parks that its mission is the conservation of natural volcanoes or volcanic areas.
- Educators, interpreters and guides in volcanic areas to develop or implement environmental education programs for both visitors and local people.
- In education teachers who teach the curriculum in its volcanism.
- A professional companies dedicated to the conservation of geological heritage.
- Students in volcanic areas protected.
- A professional working in the field of geoturisme in volcanic areas.
Furthermore, with the addition that in 2012 marks the 20th anniversary of the Rio Summit in which, for the first time, the attention of almost everyone focused on the socio-environmental problems and their close relationship with the economy and society and 30 of the Natural Park of Volcanic Zone of Garrotxa.
